Redundant

Made entirely from redundant materials (leftover project resources, found objects, or items bought from charity shops), these pieces try to express the difficulty of adapting to a new life when your familiar context and sense of purpose has been lost. Skills you have spent your life working to improve are no longer relevant and the highs and lows of your experience mean nothing in the new world you find yourself in. This could be in the form of challenges faced by service personnel returning to civilian life or a sense of loss experienced by parents when their children leave home. The disorientation of redundancy can be experienced by anyone at any time.
